Congressman Larsen Speaks Out for Jones Act

U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Washington) recently spoke on the House floor in support of the Jones Act, a maritime law that is vital to protecting U.S. national, economic and homeland security.

A longtime backer of the American maritime industry, Larsen delivered his brief remarks April 18.

Port Authority Board of Directors Elects SIU AVP Powell to Post

SIU Assistant Vice President Bryan Powell has been unanimously elected to serve as secretary-treasurer of the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority.

The port authority’s board of directors voted for Powell on March 16.

Board members serve four-year terms, without compensation. Powell has been on the board since March 2017.
